AUGUSTUS, (27 B.C. - A.D. 14), AE as, Rome mint, issued 16 B.C. by C. Gallius Lupercus, (10.70 grams), obv. bare head to right of Augustus around [CAES]AR AVGVSTVS TRI[BVNIC POTEST], rev. C. GALLIVS LVPERCVS III VIR A A A F F around large SC, (cf.S.510, RIC 379, C.436, CBN 428, BMC 174). Off centred on the obverse, dark patina, fine and scarce.
