CARACALLA, (A.D. 198-217), silver denarius, issued 207, Rome mint, (3.520 grams), obv. laureate head to right of Caracalla, around ANTONINVS PIVS AVG, rev. Mars, naked except for cloth, advancing to right, holding spear and trophy, around PONTIF TR P X COS II, (cf.S.1945, RIC 88, RSC 431). Large flan, nearly extremely fine.
