PORT PHILLIP, Kangaroo Office pattern sixpence in pewter (white metal) by W.J. Taylor, straight grained or milled edge (0.676 grams), 1.2mm thick. Almost FDC with slight discoloration but with original surface, extremely rare.

Ex Spink Stern Auction Sale October 30, 1975 (lot 76) from J. Gartner Collection and J. Smith Collection. Regarded by R. Jewell as the earliest strike to test the dies in a soft metal and possibly only two surviving examples.
