SICILY, Kamarina, (425-405 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.176 grams), obv. galloping quadriga driven to right by Athena who is crowned by Nike flying to left, corn grain in exergue, rev. traces of KAMAPINAION to left upwards, beardless head of young Herakles to left, wearing lion's skin, (cf.S.759 [£1800], Westermark and Jenkins 147 [obv.die 7, rev. die 15, 8 specimens known from this die combination], SNG ANS 1206 [same dies]). With surface pitting and extensive reverse corrosion, reverse double struck, otherwise good fine and a rare die combination.
