SICILY, Syracuse, (c.474-450 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.764 grams), obv. slow quadriga driven to right by male charioteer, Nike flying right crowning horses, rev. **[SU*R**AKOSION] around to right, head of Artemis-Arethusa to right, wearing wide head band, four dolphins around, (cf.S.925, Boehringer 589 same dies [obverse 291/reverse 399 dies], SNG Munich 1028 [same dies]). Pitting and porosity on surface, otherwise fine and rare.

Boehringer notes only 7 specimens from these dies.
