MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (17.25 grams), Amphipolis mint, issued c.294-290 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, thunderbolt over I to left, caduceus under throne, to right **ALEXANDR[OU]*, (cf.S.6713, Price 500, M.14, Armenak hoard 90, Meydancikkale 373). Very fine.
