THRACE, Island of, Thasos, (c.510-490 B.C.), silver drachm, (3.714 grams), obv. naked ithyphallic satyr in kneeling attitude to right, carrying in his arms a struggling nymph who stretches her right hand in protest, rev. quadripartite incuse square, (S.1358 [£200], BMC 32-4). Light grey tone with minor flan cracks, otherwise very fine, rare.
