THESSALY, Thessalian League, (196-146 B.C.), silver double victoriatus, (6.166 grams), Larissa mint, obv. head of Zeus to right, crowned with oak leaves, rev. Athena Itonia advancing to right, brandishing spear and holding shield, on sides **QESSAA LWN*, above across **FIL WN* star, (cf.S.2232, BMC 34-5 [p.3]). Attractive light patina, well centred, nearly extremely fine and desireable.
