ATTICA, Athens, (166-57 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.764 grams), issued 147-146 B.C., (Thompson date) but probably 115-4 B.C. (revised chronology), obv. head of Athena Parthenos to right wearing triple-crested Athenian helmet, ornamented with Pegasus, rev. owl standing to right, head facing, in erect posture, on prostrate amphora, bunch of grapes to right, K on amphora, legend across **A QE, to left MHT RODW ROS, DH MOS QEN, QEO FI, ME* below, all within wreath, (cf.S.2555, Thompson 640f same obverse die, probably Thompson 640f reverse die, Sv.55,7-8, obverse die). Nearly very fine and rare.
