IONIA, Teos, (520-510 B.C.), silver didrachm, (11.93 grams), obv. Griffin seated to right with raised foreleg, NV between legs, rev. incuse square of rough form, (cf.S.3512, Balcer [SNR 1968, Vol.47], Group II No.8 obv. die A8, rev. die P11, Boston Brett 1936). Good very fine and very rare.

Ex. Teos hoard c.1980 and Spink Noble Sale 38 (lot 1596).
