SYRIA, Kingdom of, Demetrius I, (162-150 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.571 grams), Antioch mint, issued period 162-156 B.C., obv. diademed head of Demetrius to right within laurel wreath border, rev. Tyche seated to left with leg of throne a winged monster, holds sceptre and cornucopiae, to right **BASILEWS, to left **DHMH TRIOU, HP monogram to left, (S.7014 [£225], SNG Israel I (Spaer) -, SMA Newell 97, BMC 28). Slightly off centred on the obverse but a large flan, high relief, good very fine, rare.
