SYRIA, Kingdom of, Philip I Philadelphus, (89-83 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (13.394 grams), Antioch mint, obv. diademed head of Philip I to right, fillet border, rev. Zeus seated left on throne, holds Nike with wreath in outstretched hand, all within laurel wreath, on right, **[B]ASILEW[S] FILIPPOU*, and to left **EPIFANOUS [FI]LADELFO[U]*, in exergue **P*, (cf.S.7196, Newell SMA 448, BMC 16). Porosity and horn silver, otherwise fine.
