SYRIA, Seleucis and Pieria, Laodicea ad Mare, Macrinus, (A.D. 217-218), silver tetradrachm, (13.03 grams), issued 217-218, obv. laureate head of Macrinus to right, around legend AYT K M **OP CE0U* MAKPEINOC CEB, rev. eagle standing facing, head to left, wreath in beak, between legs, star, around **DHMARC EX UPATOC P P*, (cf.S.2953, Bellinger 73 [ANS Mum. Studies No.3, p.35, Pl.VI, 12]). Double struck on the reverse, superb extremely fine with some underlying mint bloom, rare.
