SYRIA, Decapolis, Gadara, Gordian III, (A.D. 238-244), AE 27, (16.132 grams), issued year 303 = A.D. 239-240, obv. Gordian III laureate draped bust to right, traces of legend around, rev. galley sailing to right, in three lines **[POM P]/ [G]ADARE/ WN, in exergue **G T, (S.3781, SNG ANS 1332-8). Dark patina, nearly fine/good fine, rare.
