SASSANIAN KING, Vahran II (274-293), silver drachm, (3.942 grams), obv. jugate busts of Vahran and consort, the queen's head topped with horse head, prince on right to left, rev. fire altar, (Sellwood type IV, 23, Gobl 68, Pl.4, M.847-8). Light surface striation marks on obverse, porosity on reverse, otherwise good very fine, and rare.
