REPUBLIC, L. Hostilius Saserna, (48 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.85 grams), obv. head of Gallia to right, Gaulish trumpet behind, rev. Diana of Ephesus facing with stag and spear, [L] HOST[ILIVS] SASERNA around, (S.312A, B.Hostiliab 4, Cr.448/3, Syd.953). Weak in places, off centred on the reverse, otherwise very fine and very scarce.
