AUGUSTUS, (27 B.C. - A.D. 14), silver denarius, Lugdunum mint, issued 2 B.C. - A.D. 4, (3.658 grams), obv. laureate head of Augustus to right, CAESAR AVGVSTVS [DIVI F PA]TER PATRIAE around, rev. Caius and Lucius Caesars standing facing, shields and spears between them, above on left lituus to right, and on the reverse simpulum to left, around [C L C]AESARES AVGVSTI F COS DESIG P[RINC IVVENT], (S.479, RIC 207, BMC 519). Off-centre on the reverse, otherwise nearly very fine.
