CLAUDIUS, (A.D. 41-54), silver denarius, (3.552 grams), issued 44-5., Rome mint, obv. TI CLAVD CAESAR AVG P M TR P IIII, laureate head of Claudius to right, rev. IMPER RECEPT on the top of wall enclosing Praetorian Camp, soldier stands, spear in hand, (S.-, RIC 26 [R2], BMC 23). Has been mounted with chip out of edge, otherwise good fine and very rare.
