ANTONINUS PIUS, (A.D. 138-161), AE sestertius, (26.26 grams), Rome mint, issued A.D. 143-144, obv. laureate head of Antoninus Pius to right, around ANTONINVS AVG PIVS P P TR P COS IIII, rev. TR POT COS III, S C across field, ITALIA in exergue, Italy turreted seated to left on starry globe, holding cornucopiae and sceptre, (cf.S.1262, RIC 747a, C.470). Minor edge corrosion, otherwise even brown patina fine and rare.
