MARCUS AURELIUS, (A.D. 161-180), AE sestertius, issue struck at Rome in A.D.Dec. 178 - Spring 179, (24.2 grams), obv. M ANTONINVS AVG TR P XXIIII, head laureate to right, rev. around SALVTI AVG COS III, S C in field, Salus standing to left feeding snake twined around altar, holding sceptre, (S.1437, RIC 979, C.547). Even brown patina, attractive portrait, otherwise very fine and scarce.
