SEPTIMIUS SEVERUS, (A.D. 193-211), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued 201, (3.346 grams), obv. L SEP SEV PE [RT] AVG IMP VIII around, laureate head to right, rev. PROFECTIO AVG around, Septimius on horseback advancing to right, holding spear, (S.1782 [£85], RIC 91, RSC 578). Small flan, off centred as usual, good very fine, scarce.
