SEPTIMIUS SEVERUS, (A.D. 193-211), silver denarius, Laodicea mint, issued 194, (2.886 grams), obv. IMP CAE L SEP SEV PERT AVG COS II around, laureate head to right, rev. S P Q R OPT[IM]O PRINCIPI around, Septimius om horseback advancing to left, raising right hand, (S.1787 [£90], RIC 415, RSC 652). Off centred on reverse as usual, good very fine, very scarce.
