ELAGABALUS, (A.D. 218-222), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 221, (2.894 grams), obv. laureate head of Elagabalus to right, around IMP ANTONINVS PIVS AVG, rev. around P M TR P IIII COS III P P, Victory advancing to left, holding garland in each hand, open skirt, (S.2111, RIC 45, RSC 195a). Struck on a large flan, slightly off centred on reverse, otherwise extremely fine.
