ELAGABALUS, (A.D. 218-222), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 220-222, (2.563 grams), obv. laureate bust of Elagabalus draped to right, around IMP ANTONINVS PIVS AVG, rev. around FIDES MILITVM, Legionary eagle between two standards, shields at base, (S.2097, RIC 78, RSC 44). Struck on a large flan, slightly off centred on reverse, otherwise nearly extremely fine, very scarce.
