SEVERUS ALEXANDER, (A.D.222-235), AE dupondius, issued 222-231, Rome mint, (10.3 grams), obv. radiate bust to right of Severus Alexander, draped and cuirassed, around IMP CAES M AVR SEV ALEXANDER AVG, rev. SECVRITAS PERPETVA, Securitas seated by lighted altar, holding sceptre, SC in exergue, (S.-, RIC 612, C.539). Delightful green patina, very fine, a scarce type and rare in this condition.
