MAXIMIANUS, (A.D. 286-305 First Reign), billon antoninianus, Tripolis mint, issued 285-286, (4.73 grams), obv. radiate bearded bust to right of Maximianus cuirassed, around IMP C M AVR VAL MAXIMIANVS P F AVG, rev. Emperor standing right receiving Victory from Jupiter standing to left, holding sceptre, IOVI CONSERVATOR I AVGG around, TR below in exergue branch XXI, (S.3616, RIC 626, C.371); another similar (4.21 grams) Antioch mint, but bust draped to right, rev. similar around CONCORDIA MI LITVM, S below, XXI in exergue, (S.3611, RIC 621, C.54). Extremely fine with silvered surface. (2)
