CONVICT LOVE TOKEN, Great Britain cartwheel penny, 1797 cut in half, hollowed out and made into container, inside on the base inscribed, 'Elizabeth/Da11in/Edward/Rowland' and below overlaid hearts with arrow through. Very fine.

Edward Rowland sentenced at Central Criminal Court to seven years transportation. He was one of 190 convicts transported on the Egyptian, departed 5 April 1839 and arrived at Van Diemen's Land on 5 December 1839.
