ROYAL LIFE SAVING SOCIETY, Greymouth, struck and handcrafted in gold (15ct; 9.11g; 31x34mm), by G.Bros, ring top suspension, reverse inscribed 'Presented/To/F.L.Anderson/For Services Rendered/Greymouth Branch/R.L.S.S./6/3/14'; St John Ambulance Association Medallion, in silver, by V&S (Vaughton & Son, Birmingham), hallmarked for Birmingham 1913, ring top suspension, reverse inscribed '180771/Frank L.Anderson'.Very fine. Frank L.Anderson was presented with an Honorary Instructor Certificate (RLSS) at the Tepid Baths 8 May 1913. He qualified for his St John Ambulance Association Medallion in November 1914.^^At the annual meeting of the Greymouth Surf and Life Saving Club held on 1 October 1914 the committee placed on record its appreciation of Mr F.L.Anderson (of Canterbury Head Centre R.L.S. Society) who had been undoubtedly instrumental in creating a keen interest among members of the Club in becoming efficient in life saving. Mr Anderson went to considerable inconvenience to form the classes and before he left the Coast instructed the team in the proper methods to be used. In recognition of his services members of the classes presented him with a gold medal suitably engraved.
