TRIO: Military Medal (GVR type 1); British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19. 15873 Cpl A.C.Clark. 3/N.Z.Rif:Bde: on first medal, 15873 Sjt. A.C.Clark. 3/N.Z.Rif:Bde: on second medal, 15873 Sjt. A.C.Clark. N.Z.E.F. on last medal. All medals impressed.; a NZEF tribute fob in gold (9ct, 9.42g, 30x38mm), no maker, ring top suspension, reverse inscribed 'A Token Of Honour/To/Sergt.A.C.Clark/From/Studholme And/Willowbridge Friends/Great War/1914-19'; also a half hunter pocket watch in silver with white dial marked for 'G.C.Hamilton, Gore, N.Z., black Roman numerals and with one gold and one silver arm, separate seconds dial with Arabic numerals, manual wind, back of case inscribed with monogrammed initials 'AC' and below 'Xmas 1919'. Medals mounted as worn and with some contact marks, otherwise very fine, the second nearly uncirculated, the last appears to be in working order and very fine. (trio + 2)

15873 Sgt Alexander Crago Clark, 6th Reinforcements 3 Battalion, G Company NZ Rifle Brigade, embarked from New Zealand 26 July 1916.^^MM: Supplement to LG 28 January 1918, p1405 to 15873 Cpl A.C.Clark, NZ Rifle Brigade.^^Citation: For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during the attack on Passchendale Ridge on 12th October 1917. This NCO was in charge of the Battalion Carrying Party and showed great devotion to duty in the execution of this work - at times under very heavy machine gun and shellfire, both by day and night. Though badly gas-burned, he continued unremittingly and set a splendid example to his men throughout the whole operations.
