FAMILY GROUP, of sporting and exhibition fob medals won by the Wood family between 1895 and 1925, includes rifle shooting, swimming, rugby and watchmaking: unattributed, hand engraved in silver (38x32mm), English maker and hallmark (1895), obverse inscribed 'Serg.R.Woods (sic)'; C.C.G., handcrafted in silver with gold (50x33mm), English maker and hallmark, reverse inscribed '3rd/B.Class/Comptn/Won by/B.F.Wood/1899'; Canterbury Jubilee Exhibition, Christchurch, 1900, Workers' Exhibits, struck in silver (32x27.5mm), no maker, reverse inscribed 'R.F.Wood/Watchmaking' (M.1900/28); another, in gold (probably 18ct, 6.7g, 26x22mm), no maker, reverse inscribed 'Watchmaking/R.F.Wood' (M.1900/36); another, handcrafted and inscribed in gold (10ct, 6.2g, 28x25mm), reverse inscribed 'R.F.Wood/Watchmaking/Special', by G.T.W. (G.T.White, Christchurch), unlisted in Morel (M.-); M.M.R.C., hand engraved in gold (9ct, 5.9g, 37x28mm), English maker and hallmark, reverse inscribed 'M.M.R.C./Presented By/Rflm J.Robertson/Hcap.Shoot/Won By/Capt. Mrs Wood'; M.S.C., stock fob medal in silver with gold (35x24mm), English maker and hallmark, reverse inscribed 'Swimming/Won By/F.Wood/1919'; R.R.U. (Rangitikei Rugby Union), 1925, handcrafted in gold (9ct, 6.5g, 33x26mm), ring top broken off, reverse inscribed 'F.C.A.Wood'. Fine - extremely fine, all with ring top suspensions. (8)
