WORLD WAR II, U.S.A., pilots leather flying jacket as worn by Lieut Harry A.Goodman in the Pacific region. Some damage to lining otherwise generally good condition.
Lieut H.A.Goodwin was a member of the famed Air Group 15. He was awarded the Navy Cross, his citation states - 'despite intense and accurate anti-aircraft fire, amde a glide bombing runa and scored a direct hit on a large enemy carrier which contributed to its sinking. His Air medal citation praised his meritorious acts during attacks against enemy positions on Marcus and Wake, in the Marianas, Bonins Carolines and Philippine Islands and against enemy shipping in the vicinity of those islands during May 19 - Sept 24 1944.
