PROBUS, (A.D. 276-282), base silver antoninianus, Rome mint (3.2 grams), obv. radiate bust to left of Probus, draped in imperial mantle, holding sceptre surmounted by eagle, around IMP PROB VS P F AVG, rev. Sol in chariot riding left, holding globe and whip, around SOLI INVICTO, in exergue R thunderbolt **G*, (cf.S.3370, C.648, RIC 200). Silvered surface, extremely fine, scarce.
