GROUP OF SIX. British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal; 1939-45 Star; Pacific Star; British War Medal 1939-45; Australia Service Medal. Leut. A.F. Summerfield R.E/RANR(S). Stars unnamed others impressed. Mounted for wear. Very fine.

Together with certificate of entitlement for Australian awards and extracts from the Army and Navy Lists. Alfred Frederick Summerfield was educated at the City and Guilds School London. Commissioned as 2nd Lieut. in the Royal Engineers in 1917, he was promoted Lieut. in 1918. A well known between-the-wars yachtsman he was commissioned in the Royal Australian Naval Reserve (Seagoing) following the outbreak of the Second World War. He assumed command of HMAS GLENELG in 1944 and was demobilised in 1946.
