'For conspicuous gallantry during operations, Sappers Donaldson and Lane repeatedly passed through the enemy's heavy barrages in order to lay and repair cables, thus maintaining communication at a very important period'. Together with copies of citation, Commonwealth Gazette, and Discharge Certificate.
