EDWARD THE CONFESSOR, (1042-1066), silver penny, hammer cross type, York mint, issued 1059-1062, obv. crowned bust to right, bearded, with sceptre in front, rev. short cross voided with each limb terminating incurved segment of a circle, around +ARCETL ON EOFRPI (Cetel of York), (S.1182, North 828, BMC type xi, Br.8, cf.BMC 357). A few weak areas, nearly very fine and rare.
