ITALY, Calabria, Taras, (c.285 B.C.), gold hemistater, (4.28 grams), obv. head of young Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin, rev. Taras galloping to right in a biga, holding trident, in field above **EWK, below in exergue very weakly struck **TAPANTNWN*, (cf.S.362, Vl.29, Evans Period VI, P4). Attractive very fine, of fine style.
