THRACE, Kingdom of, Lysimachos, (323-281 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.97 grams), Uncertain mint (possibly Mytilene), style of that issued 297-281 B.C. or slightly later, obv. head of Alexander to right, with diadem and horn of Ammon, rev. Athena enthroned to left, supporting Nike, spear behind, monogram of MTE to left, **BASILEWS to right, **LYSIMACOU to left, (cf.S.6814, Thompson -, not in SNG's etc., Muller 530). Well centred, good very fine and a very rare monogram type.
