LUCANIA, Metapontum, (c.510-480 B.C.), silver stater, (7.96 grams), dumpy flan, obv. ear of corn with 18 grains, to l., META, all within dotted border, rev. similar to obv., but incuse, (SNG Cop. 1165, cf.S.235 & 238). Uneven flan, with surface scratches, otherwise very fine.
