VICTORIAN RAILWAYS MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT FREE PASS IN GOLD (24MM) BY STOKES & MARTIN REVERSE INSCRIBED 'HON. P. Lalor M.P.' Good veryfine and very rare, of considerable association value with Eureka.

Peter Lalor was born in Ireland in 1827. He arriaved in Australia in 1852. In 1854 while working in the Ballarat gold diggings he was asked to lead the rebellious miners at the Eureka Stockade. He was wounded losing an arm eventually. He went into hiding but was later acquitted along with other leaders of Stockade. He was elected to Parliament in 1855. He died in 1889.
