AKBAR, (A.H. 963-1014, A.D.1556-1605), Gold mohur, (10.89 grams), struck in Jaunpur mint, issued A.H. 984 (A.D. 1576-7), mint signature off flan, attribution on style (BMC Pl.III, 58), obv. Kalima, and date, rev. Akbar's name, and mint signature, (cf.BMC 58, Punjab Museum Cat. -, Nagpur -, Indian Museum Calcutta 90, KM. SAC 108.3). Short on flan as usual, otherwise nearly extremely fine, rare.
Ex. Spink & Son, London, Sept. 13, 1978 by private treaty.
