THEODOSIUS I, (A.D. 379-395), solidus, Mediolanum mint, issued 378-383, (4.5 grams), obv. pearl diademed, draped and cuirassed to right, around DN THEODO SIVS P F AVG, rev. two emperors seated facing holding globe, behind Victory, palm branch between, VICTOR IA AVGG, COM in exergue, (cf.S.4169, RIC 5f). Large gash acrossdiadem and hair, other surface scratches on obverse and reverse, otherwise good very fine and scarce.
