SYRIA, Kingdom of, Demetrius I, (160-150 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.41 grams), Series III, Antioch mint, issued year 158 = 155-154 B.C., obv. diademed head of Demetrius I to right, fillet border, rev. Tyche seated left on throne supported by winged monster, holding baton and cornucopiae, on right, **BASILEWS and to left **DHMHTRIOU and **SWTHROS, to left monograms PHA above ATN, in exergue HNP, (S.7015, Newell SMA 103, BMC 10). Slightly off centre, otherwise good very fine, scarce.
