BACTRIA, kingdom of, Menander, (c.160-145 B.C.), drachm, (2.470 grams), obv. diademed draped bust of Menander to right, around **BASILEWS SWTHRWS MENANDROU*, rev. Athena Alkidemos advancing to left brandishing shield and thunderbolt, monogram in right field, (S.7600, SNG ANS 789-790, Bop.13H). AS struck, good extremely fine anda scarce variant.
