MAN. ACILIUS BALBUS, (c.125 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.720 grams), obv. Roma helmeted head right, * before, ROMA below, BALBVS behind, all within laurel wreath, rev. Jupiter in quadriga to right, Macedonian shield below horses, MN ACILI in exergue, (S.147, Cr.271/1, Syd.498, Acilia 1). Even grey patina, very fine/nearly very fine and rare.

Ex Dr. Charles E. Weber Collection with tickets and previously from Culkin Stamp Co., Omaha Nebraska USA, Auction Sale November 1965 (lot 994), Only 20 obverse dies used on this coinage according to Crawford.
