VESPASIAN, (A.D. 69-79), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 69-79, (2.548 grams), obv. laureate head of Vespasian to right [IMP C]AESAR VESPAS[IANVS AVG] around, rev. IVDAEA in exergue with Judaea seated to right at foot of trophy, (S.2296, RIC 15, C.226). Very good and scarce.

The issue commemorates the victory by the Romans over the Jews in the First Revolt.
