VESPASIAN, (A.D. 69-79), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 79, (3.460 grams), obv. laureate head of Vespasian to right, around outwards IMP CAESAR VESPASIANVS AVG, rev. Ceres seated to left holding corn ears and poppy and torch, TR POT x COS VIII around, (S.2308 [£185 EF], RIC 113, RSC 550). Round, good very fine and scarce.

The Reka-Devnia hoard contained 1725 denarii of Vespasian but none of this variety.
