JULIUS CAESAR, (assasinated 44 B.C.), (c.49-48 B.C.), silver denarius, mint moving with Caesar, (3.890 grams), obv. elephant to right trampling on serpent, CAESAR in exergue, rev. simpulum, sprinkler, axe and priest's hat, (S.1399 [£275 EF], Cr.443/1, Syd.1006, Julius Caesar 49). Well centred, toned, good very fine, very scarce.
