COMMODUS, (A.D. 177-192), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 185, (2.852 grams), obv. laureate head of Commodus to right, around COMM ANT P FEL AVG BRIT, rev. around HILAR AVG P M TR P XII IMP VIII COS V P P, Hilaritas standing to left holding branch and long palm, (S.5647, RIC 150a, RSC 212, BMC 210). Lightly toned, good very fine and scarce.
The Reka-Devnia hoard contained 3146 denarii of Commodus and 44 coins of this variety.
