JULIA DOMNA, wife of Septimius Severus, (A.D. 193-217), silver denarius, issued 204, Rome mint, (3.084 grams), obv. draped bust to right of Julia Domna, around IVLIA AVGVSTA, rev. Pietas standing to left, sacrificing at altar, around PIETAS AVGG, (S.6600, RIC 572, RSC 150); another issued 195, Laodicea mint, (3.004 grams), obv, as above, IVLIA DO MNA AVG around, rev. VESTA around, Vesta veiled seated to left, holding palladium and sceptre, (S.6611, RIC 538, RSC 221). Second toned, good very fine. (2)

In the Reka Devnia hoard there were 3409 examples of Julia Domna, only 14 were of the second type [RSC 221].
