SULTANS OF DELHI, Alau-D-Din Muhammad Shah II, (695-715 A.H., 1296-1316 A.D.), gold tanka, (10.790 grams), Delhi mint, date of flan, obv. four lines, (The most mighty Sultan Alau-D-Din wa ud din the Victorious Muhammad Shah, the Sultan). rev. three lines (Sekunder the II, right hand of Khalifat, supporter of the faith), mint and date [off flan] around, (G&G D221, Rajgor 999, cf.M.2540). Nearly very fine.

This sultan was the most powerful of the Delhi Sultans. He aimed for world domination calling himself the second Alexander. He also accumulated vast wealth.
